Description

This full-time position will work 10:00 am-6:30 pm with every other weekend and will be responsible for the development, training and implementation of RCF/IDD programs in accordance with HDC philosophy, policies, and procedures. Candidate will be required to complete med passes, review paperwork, complete performance notices, performance reviews and other duties as assigned.

 

Candidate must have ability to effectively interact with staff, participants and professionals. Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

Candidate must possess a current and valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record. Must provide valid proof of vehicle insurance and driving record annually. High School diploma or GED required. B.A. in human services field, preferred. Minimum of one year supervisory experience and experience in the field of developmental disabilities preferred.

Title: Group Home Supervisor

Responsible to: Program Supervisors

 

Objective: Under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisors, this position has responsibility for the development, training and implementation of RCF/IDD programs in accordance with HDC philosophy, policies, and procedures. Providing Direct Supervision to assigned staff.

 

Duties:

 

  • Treat participants/residents with dignity and respect.

  • Performs direct supervision for assigned staff, including Performance Reviews, Performance Notices, staff development and scheduling.

  • Follows all HDC, DIA, and CARF policies and procedures and informs staff of the same.

  • Works directly with assigned staff and residents as scheduled.

  • Completes training of direct care staff and volunteers in programmatic areas.

  • Knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and ensures staff follow such procedures.

  • Maintains work area in orderly fashion and ensures other do as well.

  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of Group Homes.

  • Knowledgeable of individuals’ condition, needs, and whereabouts at all times. Gives and receives reports on same.

  • Provides transportation when needed.

  • Conducts activities to assist with staff retention.

  • Provides coverage as needed.

  • Updates schedules in Humanity.

  • Supervises and instructs on all aspects of Group Home expectations.

  • Completes GER’s.

  • Communicates with all departments in regard to any problems, concerns or questions.

  • Ensures safety techniques are followed to prevent injury to individuals served, staff and self.

  • Has knowledge of all programs and how they are run and recommends changes as needed.

  • Attends all trainings, meetings, and committees as necessary.

  • Promotes morale of all personnel and maintains a spirit of cooperation.

  • Provides direct care as needed.

  • Follows HIPAA and confidentiality policies.

    Qualifications:

     

    Knowledge and Abilities:

     

    Knowledge of human development, Developmental Disabilities and Intellectual Disabilities

    Knowledgeable of supervisory practices and methods understanding of programmatic versus medical service model

    Knowledgeable of community, social education and health agencies and the services they provide.

    Ability to express oneself both verbally and in written form

    Ability to lift from floor/carry/transfer individuals and adaptive equipment in excess of 50 pounds

    Ability to carry/escort individuals in excess of 50 pounds and utilize behavior techniques during behavior problems

    Ability to meet employment requirements (i.e. health screening, TB test, Driving Record)

    Knowledge of behavior management principles and techniques

    Knowledge of RCF/IDD regulations

    Ability to become a van driver.

    Ability to plan, organize, and allocate resources creatively and cost-effectively.

    Ability to create environment where staff are self-motivated

    Ability to analyze information and situations systematically

    Ability to lead by example, handle stress positively and assist others

    Ability to interpret and enforce applicable regulations and standards

    Ability to use computer to navigate and enter information into web-based software and perform basic functions related to computer use (i.e. keyboarding, email, data entry)

    Ability to understand, follow and enforce the policies and procedures of HDC

 

 

Training and Experience:
