Description

Under the direction of Employment Services Program Director and HDC Enterprises Sales/Operations Director, this full-time position will develop new business and maintain and grow existing business for Employment Services (ES) and HDC Enterprises.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Promote the capabilities of the ES Program and HDC Enterprises to prospective clients and purchasing agents.
  • The ability to maintain, grow, and close new contract sales with existing and prospective customers by utilizing professional sales techniques.
  • Position will develop bids and manage accounts.
  • Knowledge of production area, methods/standards and ability to work in the production area.

 

Successful candidate will have good interpersonal and communication skills, the desire and ability to sustain and grow customers in the Quad City area. Must also have, the ability to use computer programs (Microsoft Office suite, Dynamics) to complete electronic documentation and computer functions. Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and acceptable driving record. High School graduate or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university preferred combined with two years successful sales, contract procurement.

Title: Business Development Manager

Responsible to: Employment Services Program Director and HDC Enterprises Sales/Operations Director

 

 

Objective: To develop new business and maintain and grow existing business for Employment Services (ES) and HDC Enterprises.

 

Duties:

 

  • Promote the capabilities of the ES Program and HDC Enterprises to prospective clients and purchasing agents.

  • The ability to maintain, grow, and close new contract sales with existing and prospective customers by utilizing professional sales techniques.

  • Capacity to become proficient with internal and external production operations

  • Develop products for manufacture, sale and distribution.

  • Initiate and maintain a network of business contacts.

  • Identify sources of equipment, materials and supplies required for new products and/or contracts.

  • Develop the ability to appropriately price and bid utilizing industrial time standards/modapts.

  • Ensure Department of Labor regulations are completed as required.

  • Keep appropriate records and make reports as required.

  • Maintain daily communication and cooperation with the Employment Services and HDC Enterprises staff.

  • Complete production set-up, industrial time studies/modapts and hourly studies, scheduling, quality control.

  • Follow HIPAA and confidentiality policies.

    Perform other related duties as directed by the Employment Services Program Director and Enterprises Sales and Operations Director.

     

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge and Abilities:

     

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relation­ships with industry, business, government officials and the public

    Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately the type of work suitable for a sheltered workshop

    Good knowledge of sales methods, procedures, and techniques

    Knowledge of industries and business in the quad city area

    Knowledge of production factors in a workshop and/or factory setting, including set-ups, work methods, scheduling, quality control, etc.

    Ability to use basic computer programs (Microsoft office suite) to complete electronic documentation and perform basic functions related to computer use. (i.e. keyboarding, email, data entry)

Ability to use computer to navigate and enter information into web-based software

Ability to lift from floor or table/carry/transfer individuals and equipment in excess of 50 pounds

Ability to understand and follow the policies and procedures of HDC

 

Training and Experience:

 

High School graduate or equivalent, Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university preferred

Two years successful sales, contract procurement
