The Residential Center (ICF/ID) is seeking a 1st shift part-time Laundry. This position is responsible for collecting, sorting, rinsing, washing, drying, folding and distributing laundry for the HDC Residential Center. This positions schedule will be as follows:
Week 1
Thursday 11am-4:30pm
Saturday & Sunday 8am-4pm
Week 2
Thursday 11am-4:30pm
Friday & Saturday 8am-4pm
Week 3
Wednesday 11am-4:30pm
Thursday 8am-4pm
Friday 8am-4pm
Week 4
Thursday 11am-4:30pm
Friday 8am-4pm
Sunday 8am-4pm

Title: Laundry Worker
Responsible to: Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor
Objective: Under the supervision of the Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor collects, sorts, rinses, washes, dries, folds and distributes laundry for the Handicapped Development Center Residential Center.
Duties:

Collects and sorts all soiled linens in the facility.

Soaks spots (as needed), washes, and dries linens and individuals’ personal clothing.

Hangs, folds, processes or hand irons as required.

Distributes clean linens as needed.

Follows established procedures for isolation laundry.

Reports damage to linens and clothing items as sets aside for mending.

Reports linen and supply needs to supervisor.

Ensures name tags are on garments.

Cleans equipment and laundry area on a daily basis.

Cleans lint traps on dryers as necessary, at least twice a day.

Uses supplies in an economical manner.

Performs duties consistent with proper procedures to prevent cross contamination and infection.

Helps train new employees.

Requests repairs as needed.

Attends meetings and trainings as needed.

Operates equipment in a manner to prevent damage.

Follows HIPAA and confidentiality policies.

Attends meetings and trainings as assigned.

Qualifications:
Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to carry out instructions without constant supervision
Ability to work with individuals who live at the residential center, staff, visitors, and co-workers
Ability to meet employment requirements (i.e. health screening, TB test)
Ability to lift inventory and linens up to 50 pounds
Ability to withstand exposure to reasonable heat, water, cleaning and disinfectant solutions, and biologically unclean materials
Ability to use computer to navigate and enter information into web-based software and perform basic functions related to computer use (i.e. keyboarding, email, data entry)
Ability to understand and follow the policies and procedures of HDC
Training and Experience:
None required but previous laundry experience preferred.
