Description
Serve as coordinator for the spectrum of employment services, including Prevocational, Career Exploration, and Community Employment Services. Supervise and implement short and long-term goals and objectives for participants in order to help them be successful in employment. 

Full Time position. Will need to have open availability to work 1st and 2nd shift hours, morning, afternoon, or evening shift needed. Ability to work some weekends and holidays.

 
  • Treat participants/residents/staff with dignity and respect. 
  • Help foster and maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.   
  • Lead and coordinate job development activities to secure appropriate community work sites for participants. 
  • Plan, develop and implement training and supervision for participants. 
  • Provide input and assist with Performance Expectations Reviews of Prevocational Supervisors and Job Coaches. Provide daily supervision of assigned staff (Housekeeping Associates) and submit performance reviews and other reports in a timely manner to the Assistant Program Director. 
  • Assist with planning and organizing meaningful group and individual (unpaid) Prevocational and Career Exploration activities for participants. 
  • Provide training to new job coaches following the orientation training schedule.
  • Lead weekly employment meetings and record meeting minutes. 
  • Supervise and/or complete assigned community employment contracts and job tasks at individual work sites. 
  • Work a flexible or rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Maintain on-going awareness of individuals’ progress by means of observation and recordkeeping. 
  • Complete and maintain the necessary Employment Services training as required by funding and auditing entities. 
  • Represent the agency and maintain the role of liaison with a wide variety of employers and individuals.
  • Contact and record contract job contacts on a quarterly basis for progress reports.
  • Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling as required. 
  • Participate in meetings with participants and interested parties for purpose of reviewing program effectiveness, progress and any other procedural matter required to ensure successful employment. 
  • Understand and follow the policies and procedures of Empowering Abilities, including HIPAA and confidentiality policies. 
  • Drive personal or agency vehicle for employment activities.
  • Accompany Assistant Program Director to potential contract job sites and provide input on quotes.   

           Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

Knowledge and Abilities: 

  • Ability to supervise, motivate, instruct, and evaluate participants 
  • Ability to supervise, motivate, instruct, and evaluate staff 
  • Ability to communicate effectively 
  • Knowledge of good safety practices and methods 
  • Knowledge of goals, methods, and practices in industry 
  • Ability to use basic computer programs (Microsoft office suite) to complete electronic documentation and perform basic functions related to computer use. (i.e. keyboarding, email, data entry) 
  • Ability to use computer to navigate and enter information into web-based software 
  • Ability to intermittently lift/carry in excess of 50 pounds  

Training and Experience: 

High School diploma or GED 

Two years’ work experience 

One year experience in working with individuals with disabilities (preferred) 

Two years college (preferred) 

Valid Driver's License, car insurance and reliable transportation required
