This 1st shift part-time position, with no weekends or holidays, provides one-to-one services to participants for personal needs, provides assistance in the kitchen, and monitors individuals during arrival, break periods and departure daily. The Employment Services Supervisor also provides supervision of participants as assigned including convening Day Habilitation activities. Candidate must have the ability to use basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite) to complete electronic documentation and basic computer functions. HS Diploma or GED required.

Title: Employment Services Supervisor

Responsible to: Food Service Supervisor or Employment Services Casemanager, as assigned

 

Objective: To provide supervision of participants as assigned including convening Day Habilitation activities; provides supervision of the kitchen, provide one-to-one services to participants for personal needs, and monitors individuals during arrival, break periods and departure daily.

 

Duties:

 

  • Make recommendations to administration concerning welfare of participants, such as safety, wages, grievances, etc.

  • Train, monitor and supervise participants as assigned before and after work, and during lunches and break times, including assistance with getting on/off vans and buses.

  • Provide personal care and assistance to participants for eating, toileting, transferring out of wheelchairs, etc.

  • Consult with Casemanagers regarding participants and follow-through on recommendations relating to individual plans.

  • Serve as backup for the Food Services Supervisor in their absence, including daily documentation, time sheets, monitoring inventories, preparation, and serving of food items, and proper use of equipment, etc.

  • Plan and organize meaningful group and individual day habilitation activities for participants.

  • Follows HIPAA and confidentiality policies.

    Performs other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications:

    Knowledge and Abilities:

     

    Knowledge of goals, methods, and practices in food service industry

    Knowledge of good safety practices and methods

    Ability to supervise, motivate, instruct and evaluate participants

    Ability to communicate effectively

    Ability to use basic computer programs (Microsoft office suite) to complete electronic documentation and perform basic functions related to computer use. (i.e. keyboarding, email, data entry)

    Ability to use computer to navigate and enter information into web-based software

    Ability to lift/carry/transfer individuals and equipment in excess of 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques

    Ability to understand and follow the policies and procedures of HDC

     

    Training and Experience:

     

    High School graduate or equivalent

    A minimum of two years of full-time paid employment in regular industry or in sheltered workshops including at least one year of work experience in the type of operations to be supervised in the sheltered workshop

    At least three years of any combination of military service, education or business experience may be substituted for either the education or experience requirements
