Full-time 1st shift, Monday-Friday position to plan and implement activities and provide training in classroom and production settings for individuals with disabilities. Will be required to have the ability to lift 50lbs. Previous experience with ID/DD preferred. Must have valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation. HS diploma or GED required.

Title: Employment Services Instructor
Responsible to: Employment Services Casemanager or Employment Services Program Director, as assigned
Objective: To teach individuals with disabilities appropriate skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary for them to better integrate into their community and to maintain their life skills.
Duties:

Treat participants/residents with dignity and respect.

Notify Employment Services Casemanager or Employment Services Program Director of: program needs (supplies, etc.); special participant needs (medical, instructional, etc.); outside contacts (with parents, residences, etc.).

Preparation of all participant program materials, group schedules, recreation activities/schedules, etc..

Purchase of supplies with supervisory approval.
-
Maintain records of each participant’s goals and progress.
-
Develop and implement functional, age-appropriate activities for group and individualized training.

Complete and maintain the necessary training as required by funding and auditing entities.
-
Submit all correspondence and plans for supervisory approval.
-
Adhere to safety procedures/practices.
-
Assist participants with personal care.
-
Assist participants with eating.
-
Drive agency and/or personal vehicle for community integration activities.
-
Follows HIPAA and confidentiality policies.

Qualifications:
Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to motivate, instruct, and evaluate participants
Ability to communicate effectively
Knowledge of and interest in activities planning and scheduling
Flexibility in dealing with people with varied and changing needs
Ability to use basic computer programs (Microsoft office suite) to complete electronic documentation and perform basic functions related to computer use. (i.e. keyboarding, email, data entry)
Ability to use computer to navigate and enter information into web-based software
Desire/ability to seek ways in which persons with disabilities can be independent or semi-independent in task performance
Ability to lift from floor/carry/transfer individuals and adaptive equipment in excess of 50 pounds
Ability to understand and follow the policies and procedures of HDC
Ability to implement methods of behavioral intervention as needed
Willingness to seek out additional duties
Training and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent GED, two years related work experience, degree preferred, but proven competence in related job experience, writing skills and adaptability would qualify
